Itama 70: Italian Open-Yacht Design Enters a New Chapter
The new Itama 70 combines the pleasure of open-air cruising with more generous living spaces and a contemporary approach to comfort. With her clean silhouette, spacious decks and sporty character, she carries the unmistakable identity of Itama into the next chapter of the brand’s development.
Presented as a world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2026, following her appearance at the Itama Power Circle gathering in Porto Rotondo, the new model is the second step in the renewal of the Itama range.
For owners drawn to the direct connection between yacht and sea, Itama 70 offers an appealing balance: space to enjoy the outdoors throughout the day, welcoming accommodation below deck and performance that makes the journey part of the experience.
A Contemporary Interpretation of Itama Style
Measuring 21.23 metres in length overall, with a 5.30-metre beam, Itama 70 was developed through collaboration between Ferretti Group’s Strategic Product Committee and Engineering Department. Vallicelli Design created the exterior styling, while IdeaeItalia designed the interiors.
The yacht preserves Itama’s restrained design language while introducing a more spacious arrangement on board. Long hull windows emphasise the profile and bring daylight into the accommodation, while the generous forward sunpad is integrated into the deck.
The result is a yacht with a clear sense of purpose: an open layout that places outdoor living at the centre of the experience, supported by comfortable spaces for longer stays.
A Main Deck Designed Around Life Outdoors
The cockpit brings relaxation, dining and entertaining together in one connected setting. A large aft sunpad flows into the U-shaped dining area through a shared backrest, creating a natural link between lounging and gathering around the teak-topped table.
Opposite the dining area, the wet bar provides a convenient place to prepare refreshments. An electric bimini offers shade, extending the cockpit’s appeal during long days on the water.
At the stern, the platform accommodates a tender of up to 3.25 metres, supporting trips ashore and exploration beyond the anchorage.
Forward, the bow sunpad offers another place to unwind, with open views and a different perspective on the surroundings. Access through the centre of the windscreen connects the cockpit with the foredeck, while a separate entrance leads to the accommodation below.
Three Cabins and Comfortable Accommodation
Below deck, Itama 70 features three cabins and three bathrooms, complemented by a galley and dinette. The owner’s cabin sits aft, the VIP cabin occupies the bow, and a further guest cabin completes the layout.
A continuous floor level throughout the lower deck makes movement between the spaces easier. Hull glazing brings natural light into the interiors, while wood and leather introduce warmth to the contemporary design.
The galley and dinette provide an indoor setting for meals or quieter moments. Together with the private cabins, they give owners the flexibility to extend a day on the water into a weekend or a longer cruise.
Twin MAN V12 Engines and Sporty Performance
Itama 70 is powered by twin MAN V12 engines, with two configurations available:
- Standard: two 1,400 HP engines, with a preliminary top speed of 37 knots and cruising speed of 33 knots.
- Optional: two 1,550 HP engines, with a preliminary top speed of 39 knots and cruising speed of 35 knots.
An XENTA electro-hydraulic steering system supports handling, with a manoeuvring joystick available as an option. Owners can also specify a Seakeeper NG14 gyroscopic stabiliser to reduce roll.
